For the event, SIDMA College’s Human Resource Department had collaborated with Gleneagles Kota Kinabalu Hospital to enable Ms Kimberley Ong (Dietician) to rekindle SIDMA staff on healthy lifestyle for the long term benefits for themselves and to the company.

According to Kimberley, by changing what and how one were to eat and drink, it can help to reduce stress, improves overall health and wellbeing with a host of wider benefits such as it improves one’s motivation and morale, as well as increases productivity and effectiveness. She added that lifestyle change is a very powerful tool to enable individuals to optimise their potentials (both in health and their performances).

Dr Morni who has just returned from his overseas trip and was very impressed by how people in other countries enforced their law and orders, reminded SIDMA staff to be firm and more committed when enforcing SIDMA’s rules and regulations to our clients particularly to our students, so as to avoid sending the wrong messages, perceptions and conceptions. At the same time he also advised the staff to establish good business dealings and established good relationships with all SIDMA stakeholders and clients, in order to establish lasting business collaboration and partnership with them. He also mentioned the recent success of SIDMA College Sarawak achieving better and higher number of new enrolment of students during their recent new semester intake as a very good example of their on-going effort, consistencies and commitments in providing services that are relevant to the current and future requirement for the students.

He ended his talk by quoting the 7 keys to happiness by Saidina Ali Bin Abi Talib who was the fourth Sunni Caliph from 35 Hijrah (655 Masihi) for SIDMA staff’s continuous reflection. The 7 keys are:

  1. Do not hate anyone, even there is a violation of your rights
  2. Never be sad excessively although problem peaked
  3. Live moderately though convenience
  4. Do your kindness though a lot of misfortune
  5. Expand to give even if you're in hardship
  6. Smile though your hearts are crying
  7. Don’t stop your prayer for fellow believers

Among some of the important announcement that Dr Morni had highlighted during the event was on the possibility of new staff joining its management team, particularly to ensure the implementation and enforcement of the college rules and regulation to ensure its continuous needs and relevancy.
