SIDMA College UNITAR Sabah towards a Caring and Sharing Institution. Print

SIDMA College UNITAR Sabah staffs have collectively agreed that they have been very fortunate to have Dr Morni Hj Kambrie as the Founder and Chairman of the institution; and Madam Azizah Khalid Merican as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Together they have been very supportive, caring and empathise towards the welfare and needs of its staff.

Towards this end, Dr Morni who has been putting employees’ needs over his own measurable gains, launched the SIDMA College Staff Welfare Association (Pertubuhan Kebajikan Kakitangan Kolej SIDMA Sabah – PKKKSS); a registered welfare association, on May 20th 2012 with the main focus of taking care of the general welfare of SIDMA staff and also its students. With the collaborative efforts of the staff through PKKKSS, Dr Morni has created a culture of trust, caring, cooperation, fairness and empathy among SIDMA staff.

Since established, PKKKSS continued to assist Dr Morni in conducting various Corporate Social Representative (CSR) such as giveaways to staff during special Malaysian annual festivals including Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Hari Raya Aidiladha, Kaamatan festival and Christmas celebration to share the joyful moments during such celebration. Such activities also meant his recognition of the good services rendered by its staff throughout the year, and also to encourage the spirit of collegiality between staff and the management team.

Recently, Mr Zain Azrai Bin Mohd Noor, PKKKSS Chairman, presented Condolences  Packages to Mr Safwan Ali and Nurul Ali on the demised of their beloved father, the late Haji Ali bin Haji Gapar and to Mr Jerome Aaron on the passing away of his late father, Mr Aaron bin Awang Tuah.

The college, through its PKKKSS also presented Congratulatory Packages to Madam Rettie Anak Michael for her recent marriage.

Students from poor family were given a one-off assistance to help them to ease their financial burden. Special finance assistance was given to deserving students.

SIDMA staff when approached expressed their admiration for Dr Morni as an employer who cares about them and their welfare as one of his many priorities. They see him as role models and often mimic those caring and sharing qualities; thus creating a culture of servant leadership in the organisation. This serving culture drives the effectiveness and relevancy of the college in providing quality educational services to the students.
