The group which was given the mandate to organize the function had adopted the tagline "White Cowboy – Wanted Dead or Alive" as the theme.

The establishment of Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (UNITAR) was mooted by Datuk Hassan Harun, the former chairman of KUB Malaysia Berhad. This was guided by his strong interest and vast experience in the field of education, especially with the setting up of Maktab Adabi in 1969.

SIDMA College was fully relocated to its new campus at Jalan Bundusan, Kota Kinabalu on October 27, 2011. Since moving into its new 47,000 square feet campus, the situation was like gold fish being transferred from a small fish-bowl into a bigger fish tank for everyone. It is not so much the increase in the size that concerned us, but it is the new challenges that are suddenly happening and all the dynamic changes; unlike the usual dilemma previously experienced at Wisma Prudential.

 School has been seen as inertia to emancipate people for better jobs and positions both in the government and private sectors. This institution played its role to enhance social mobility as more young people could pursue their studies at higher learning institutions locally or abroad in order to obtain the best education available for them in various fields.
